The Wolverine plant is part of the Perry Creek operation of Walter Energy. It has a capacity of 3.0 million tonnes per year, expandable to 3.5 million tonnes with further capital investment. The preparation plant is used to clean the coal before it is loaded onto trains for transport to market. The property also has a dryer plant with evaporator capacity of 30 tonnes per hour, and a rail loadout capable of loading a 12,500 tonne unit train in 4.5 hours. The facilities at Wolverine are capable of handling planned growth on the property for the foreseeable future.
Coal from the EB and Hermann mines will be transported via existing roads to the Wolverine Group coal preparation plant, dryer and rail loadout.
