The Perseverance gold and copper deposit in Central West New South Wales, near the mining town of Cobar, is located 900 metres south of the Peak ore body. Access to the mine is actually gained by a decline ramp from the Peak mine workings to the Perseverance Zone A deposit. During the third quarter of 2013 the Peak gold mining operation, that includes the Perseverance Mine, produced 2.8 million pounds of copper and 23,926 ounces of gold, compared with 3.1 million pounds of copper and 23,886 ounces of gold for the same period in 2012. For the first nine months of 2013 the operation produced 9.9 million pounds of copper and 76,463 ounces of gold, compared with 10.8 million pounds of copper and 66,737 ounces of gold in the first nine months of 2012. The increase in gold production reflected the increase in ore being processed and its higher grade which was responsible for increased mill recovery.
